Reinventing a Local Classic
We’re feeling extra inspired this season after sponsoring the Halloween Keiki Art Camp at East Hawaiʻi Cultural Center (EHCC). It was such a joy to see kids from our local community dive into the creative process, designing and sewing their own Palaka Monsters, each one as wild, colorful, and original as the keiki who made them! This event reminded us how powerful hands-on creativity can be when paired with imagination, encouragement, and a touch of Hawaiʻi’s heritage.
Palaka has always told a story of resilience. Through the hands of our youngest makers, that story now includes creativity, joy, and new beginnings.
Sharing the Aloha
Each keiki who joined the camp received a goodie bag from us with a mini sewing kit (to keep the creative spark going), a pair of arm sleeves (to protect them as they work and play), some HI Inspired stickers, and our business card to stay in touch. It was our small way of saying mahalo for showing up, creating from the heart, and reminding us why we do what we do.
What’s Next?
We’re continuing to explore ways to blend cultural heritage, functionality, and creativity into everything we make. Whether it’s protective gear or community projects, our commitment stays the same: Every action we take affects Land · Ocean · Air. And every stitch, every sleeve, every monster matters.
